Friday 15 May:
Through a partnership with the Department of Justice’s Adult Community Corrections initiative, fine defaulters have been able to work off their debts and community orders at Cockburn Community Men’s Shed for the past five years.


Thursday 14 May:
A reduction in bins along Cockburn’s beaches has resulted in less litter from beachgoers, according to new data.

“Beachgoers often express thanks for my work and an understanding that litter is everyone’s responsibility, not just the bins and those employed to empty them,” said City of Cockburn Community Waste Education Officer Laura Hutchison.

Wednesday 13 May:
At the City of Cockburn’s Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 11 May, Council adopted several recommendations, including $79,000 in community sponsorship and donations in the second round of the 2025-26 grant program.

A crane rollover has shut a road in Leeming overnight with the closure still causing traffic chaos on Wednesday morning. A five axle Liebherr 60 tonne crane was travelling along Karel Avenue in Leeming around 3pm on Tuesday when it tipped over as it tried to turn around a roundabout to enter onto Roe Highway.
