Tony Brun appointed CEO at Avalon Airport, Melbourne

The City of Cockburn's response to Geelong Times on 15 July 2022 about Tony Brun's appointment as CEO of Melbourne Avalon Airport

Question: I was hoping to get comment from Tony about the move specifically focusing on Avalon; i.e. explaining the experience he brings to the role, what attracted him to the job and why he decided it was the right fit.
Answer:
“This role is extremely attractive given the amazing potential of the region, the strong sense of community, a great industry asset at Avalon and all as part of Linfox which brings credibility, capacity and an unparalleled reputation for trust and delivery.

“I have strong connections with regional communities and economies and see an exciting opportunity for developing Avalon as an integrated passenger, freight, logistics and commercial precinct creating economic growth and jobs for the Greater Geelong and Wyndham communities.

“As an experienced engineer and executive I have been involved in a variety of public and private sector organisations.

“I have over 20 years’ experience with various airports across Australia including regional airports at Bunbury, Geraldton and the Sunshine Coast, in addition to senior and executive roles at Perth and Melbourne Airports.”
