Strong turnout for new workshop

The City of Cockburn welcomed a strong turnout at its recent “Starting a Side Business: From Idea to Income” workshop, held at Cooby CoWork in Coolbellup on Friday 12 June. The free session attracted a diverse group of aspiring entrepreneurs and community members eager to explore new income opportunities and business ideas.

Designed to be accessible and beginner-friendly, the workshop focused on practical, low-risk steps to help participants turn their ideas into action. Attendees were guided through key topics including refining business concepts, understanding basic setup requirements, and identifying clear next steps to start generating income.

The interactive session created a supportive and engaging environment, with participants sharing ideas, asking questions and connecting with others at a similar stage of their business journey. Many left feeling more confident in their ability to test and develop a side hustle or small business idea.

With interest in flexible work and entrepreneurial pathways continuing to grow, workshops like this highlight the value of providing accessible, practical support for local residents. The strong turnout reflects a clear appetite for learning opportunities that build skills and confidence in starting a business.
