Record interest in 2026 Business Grants

The City has received a record-breaking 80 applications for its 2026 Business Grants program, highlighting strong local business confidence and a growing appetite for innovation across the community.

Applications officially closed on 21 June 2026, marking the end of a highly competitive round. This year’s submissions represent a diverse mix of industries including hospitality, creative industries, health and wellbeing and emerging digital enterprises.

We are excited to see a wide range of ideas and initiatives from local businesses, each demonstrating ambition, resilience and commitment to growth.

The assessment process is currently underway and is expected to take approximately 4-6 weeks. Each application will be carefully reviewed against the program criteria and alignment with the City’s broader economic development goals.

The City’s Business Grants program has become a cornerstone initiative in supporting local businesses to expand and adapt in an increasingly competitive environment. Over the past six years, the program has supported a wide range of successful projects—from technology adoption to sustainability upgrades and business diversification.

Successful applicants will be notified following the completion of the assessment process and we look forward to sharing the outcomes and celebrating this year’s grant recipients.

In the meantime, we thank all applicants for the time, effort and passion demonstrated in their submissions and acknowledge their important contribution to the continued growth and diversity of our local economy.
