The Cockburn Central Town Centre is a vibrant and active space and is next to the Cockburn Central Train Station, where a number  community events throughout the year. About the Cockburn Central town centre

Cockburn Central has a town centre with a vibrant mix of residential, retail and commercial properties. The retail, dining and office uses in Cockburn Central are easily accessed through a public transport interchange next to the town square.

Medium to high density apartment living caters for the diverse community of the future and there are 1,098 residential apartments constructed or approved in the Cockburn Central Town Centre.

Current development in the Cockburn Central town centre

The design and layout of the town centre is guided by the Cockburn Central Structure Plan (see under Related Documents below).

New Cockburn Central Police Station

The new Station on Lot 2, on the corner of Linkage Avenue and North Lake Road, is almost complete. 

Small Bar

A small bar at 134/2 Signal Terrace on the ground floor of the Kingston Apartment building (corner of Midgegooroo Avenue) has received planning approval.  The fit-out is expected to be occurring soon.

Mixed use residential and commercial development

The development of Lot 26 Junction Boulevard has received planning approval and includes 119 apartments and 12 commercial tenancies.  Construction has not yet commenced.

Mixed-use development

  • Stage 1 of a 4 stage mixed use development on Lot 5, which is on the corner of Signal Terrace and Sleeper Lane, has been given planning approval.  Stage 1 includes 87 residential apartments and three commercial tenancies.  Construction has not yet commenced.

  • A mixed use development on Lot 11 including a 3-star hotel containing 146 rooms, 109 apartments and four commercial tenancies have been recently approved on Lot 11 adjacent to the rail station, on the southern side of the Town Square.  Construction has not yet commenced.

  • 276 residential apartments and commercial units were approved on Lot 1 Junction Boulevard and Lot 26 Linkage Avenue (cnr Midgegooroo Avenue and North Lake Road).  Construction has not yet commenced.
