Ngarkal Beach to get a summer makeover

Ngarkal Beach is undergoing some improvements to ensure it is in prime condition for the summer school holidays.
Exposed rocks will be removed and beach amenity improved during temporary closures at the beach and nearby park.
Until mid-December, earthmoving equipment will restore the sand profile and remove surface rocks on the beach, and some civil works to adjacent footpaths will enable the equipment to safely access the beach.

Works will involve the excavation and trucking of beach sand from Chelydra Beach south of the old power station to provide fill at Ngarkal Beach. Access to some areas of Chelydra Beach will also restricted during this time.
Beach closures will be limited to week days, and all beaches will remain open on weekends during the works, scheduled for completion by 15 December 2017. to ensure Ngarkal Beach is in prime condition in time for the summer school holiday period

Members of the public are requested to keep clear of work areas during these times.
