About the event

Join the City of Cockburn's Sustainability and Climate Change team for a day of discovery in your local area!

These spring school holidays, immerse yourself in the beauty of Frankland Park in Hammond Park. September is the perfect time to experience the park’s stunning wildflowers in full bloom. Take a stroll and admire a vibrant array of native plants, showcasing the rich biodiversity of our region.

While you're there, keep an eye out for kangaroos and kwenda. If you're an early riser, mornings are ideal for birdwatching, with Frankland Park home to a variety of bush birds such as butcherbirds, wattlebirds, honeyeaters, and even the endangered Carnaby's Black-Cockatoo.

Don't miss out—sign up for a FREE guided walk, enjoy a hands-on activity, or simply drop by for a chat with our team!

Activities on the day include:

  • Colouring-in activities available throughout the morning.
  • A self-guided pop-up wildflower walk with our new wildflower guide.
  • FREE coffee from the Friends of the Community coffee van, sponsored by Hammond Park Community Association, Vivente, and Richard Noble.

Spaces for these activities are limited, so be sure to secure your spot by registering early!
