Get Planting Cockburn

In 2018 The City of Cockburn received funding for $100,000 worth of native trees to be planted in Cockburn over the next three years.

Community members will have the chance to plant an additional 4,000 trees in the Cockburn landscape, over and above the 10ha already earmarked for planting by the City until 2020.

The 'Get Planting Cockburn' project was made possible with a grant from the Local Projects, Local Jobs fund administered by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.

Go to Events and Workshops for more information on planting dates and locations.

Friends-of Groups

The City supports a number of ‘Friends of’ groups, community volunteers who look after natural areas in the City. Visit the Cockburn Wetlands Education Centre for information on their group and how to get involved. For other community conservation groups in Cockburn, contact the Environmental Services team on 08 9411 3444 or at environmentalmanagement@cockburn.wa.gov.au. You don’t need any prior experience to join a friends of group, just a love of the natural environment!
