This festival is brought to you by The Wetlands Centre Cockburn, WA Wildlife, Perth NRM (supported by Coastwest) and the City of Cockburn. Suitable for 30, year 4 to 6 environmental champions.

Please rank activities in order of preference. Only 5 will be enjoyed on the day. We will do our best to provide you with your top 5 preferences.

  Learn about the interesting world of algae and how algal blooms impact wetland and river health.
Students will try their hand at a simulated fishing activity and observe the effects of fishing pressure on our fish stocks. They will learn how management and science play an important role in keeping our fish stocks sustainable.

 Step into the heart of the Aussie outback and meet some of Australia’s most iconic animals. From Emus and Birds to Wombats and Dingos, get up close with these incredible creatures while learning about their habitats, behaviours, and conservation needs.  

Students will they dive into the rich cultural heritage of the Nyungar Six Seasons, passionately merging it with botanical knowledge and a visit to the community native plant nursery.  
Get hands-on with Australia's fascinating reptiles. Meet snakes, lizards, and turtles while learning about their unique adaptations and survival skills. Perfect for reptile lovers and curious minds, this exciting and educational encounter will change the way you see these incredible cold-blooded creatures.
Dive into engineering by building a beach using principles of an artificial fringing reef. Students will explore coastal management in this hands on activity understanding coastal processes like erosion.
Students learn about the turtle's features, habitat and learn about the "Save Our Snake Necked Turtles" initiative and create a clay turtle keepsake. This comprehensive experience fosters a genuine appreciation for conservation while empowering young minds in hands-on science.
Students will investigate what makes a good filter and have the opportunity to clean some water. They will also explore the importance of protecting our water and waterways from pollutants.
Students will make their own unique fish print in this art/science mash-up. Learn about the ancient Japanese artform of gyotaku, using high-quality replica fish. Activity will also explore the diversity of fish shapes and adaptions for survival.
Explore how unique and amazing our native trees are! Uncover how our trees survive and thrive in our harsh and dry climate. Students will play hands-on games to uncover how our native trees grow, change and survive in our harsh climate and their importance for our planet.
