Friday 17 April:
All of the sites in the new Jandakot Business Park have been sold. The development at 100 Prinsep Road was approved by the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel in May 2024.


Thursday 16 April:
The City of Cockburn has moved to remind dog owners that the dog poo fairy – while a commendable proposition that everyone would appreciate – doesn’t exist.


The State government has announced the state's first-ever State Development Area along the Western Trade Coast between Rockingham and Munster to support AUKUS, and fast track industrial precincts and developments which will diversify Western Australia's economy.
The Western Trade Coast includes the Henderson Precinct, which is set to become the largest naval maintenance and shipbuilding precinct in the southern hemisphere.

Ten Western Australian small and medium enterprises, including four from Henderson and Bibra Lake, will each receive up to $20,000 in grant funding to strengthen their capability and competitiveness in entering defence supply chains.

The State government has appointed 12 Aboriginal men and women from across WA to the Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee for its 2026 term. Members include former City of Cockburn First Nations Community Development Officer Amanda King.

Wednesday 15 April:
At the City of Cockburn’s Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 14 April, Council adopted several recommendations, including accepting tenders for landscape works for various arterial roads, including Beeliar and Midgegooroo drive, Glenbawn Slip Road, Russell, Forrest and Farrington roads. The work will focus on mulching and tree planting (item 14.3.1, Page 230).

The City of Cockburn has taken decisive steps to plan for business continuity as fuel security in Western Australia continues to be threatened by ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The Cockburn Community Men's Shed has been crowned the National Shed of the Year, beating out 1,200 other groups across the country. Representative Mike Murphy detailed their award-winning community work, which ranges from building equipment for local schools to supporting international health initiatives in an interview on 6PR radio.

Sunday 12 April:
A 30-year-old Atwell man has been charged with several drug and firearm offences following a dangerous police pursuit through Willagee on Sunday.
