Rubbish complaint at a house in Moondarra Circle, South Lake

The City's response to 7NEWS about a rubbish complaint at a house in Moondarra Circle, South Lake, 16.9.25

Question: Have you issued a warning to the tenants?
Answer:
While the City has attempted to contact the occupant, no warning or notice has been issued by the City to the occupants at this time.
City of Cockburn officers have received a complaint about the property but has been unsuccessful in contacting the tenant to discuss the issue. The City contacted the Department of Communities following discussions with the complainant to pass on their contact details and circumstances of the complaint.

Question: Can the council ensure action is taken to clean up this yard?
Answer:
As the landowner is the Department of Communities, the City cannot deal with the matter under either the Health (Miscellaneous Provision) Act 1911 or the Local Government Act 1995, as these Acts do not bind the State.

Question: Have you been in discussions with the Dept of Housing and Works about improving this yard?
Answer:
The City has contacted the Department of Communities to provide the complainant’s details (with their permission) on the assumption the resident concerned has not been contacted by the Department.
