Trucks parked near Wattleup shops/Ten Mile Well Tavern

The City's response to 6PR Rumour File about trucks parked near Wattleup shops/Ten Mile Well Tavern, 8.8.25

Question: Rumour has it that three large trucks have been left near the Ten Mile Well Tavern/Wattleup Shopping Centre area for over six months…One is apparently in the car park next to the lunch bar and the other two are next to the car park in the sand. Have confirmed with one of the businesses that the trucks are still there. Is this something that the council has been made aware of? And if so, is this something that the council has any grounds to look into?
Answer:
The City has not received any recent reports or complaints concerning vehicles being parked in this area.

The Ten Mile Well Tavern/Wattleup shops are located at 1048 Rockingham Road in Wattleup. This area is subject of the Hope Valley Wattleup Redevelopment Act 2000 and is transitioning to an industrial area. The Hope Valley Wattleup area (known as Latitude 32) is being managed and administered by Development WA, the state government agency for land development.

While this area is covered by the Hope Valley Wattleup Redevelopment Act 2000, and is a mix of private and state-owned land, the City does not have statutory authority to deal with illegal parking or abandoned vehicles.

Depending on the circumstance, truck parking or storage in this area may require City approval. Truck parking or storage may be an activity that could be supported in the Hope Valley Wattleup area.
