About the event

Love writing? Join the club!
Each session of our Young Writers’ Club will include activities to spark new ideas, and discussions with hosts from varied creative backgrounds. Share your stories and grow your skills in a fun and supportive community. All types of writing are welcome - fiction, non-fiction, poetry and more!

This term we will be joined by:

23 April - Lauren Butcher. Musician, radio host and creative writer.

7 May - Em Readman. Award-winning writer, writing with a cause.

21 May - Heather Waugh. Children’s author, educator and environmental scientist.

4 June - Nina Dakin. Illustrator, comic book writer and storyboard artist.

18 June - Bianca Breen. Fantasy and young adult author.

2 July - Cristy Burne. International science communicator, award-winning author and global adventurer.


The club meets from 4.30 to 6pm at Success Library, with the last half hour dedicated to free writing and feedback. 

Bookings preferred - ages 13 to 17.

Enjoy snacks (brain food!) supplied by Cockburn Youth Services.
