This month's skill booster sessions
Got a brilliant idea but don’t know where to start? The City of Cockburn is proud to offer a scholarship valued at $3,750 for participation in the Curtin Ignition program, designed to turn your business dreams into reality! Learn about the eligibility requirements and how to apply at this session.
What is Curtin Ignition?
Curtin Ignition is an immersive six-day bootcamp (running 15-21 August 2026) for aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, researchers, and innovators. Participants get access to expert-led workshops and one-on-one mentoring and create direct connections with Western Australia’s most experienced entrepreneurs and investors.
Meet three of our 2025 graduates who will share how Curtin Ignition accelerated their business journeys:
- Aaron Norrish identified a critical gap in accessing NDIS assistive equipment. Through Ignition, he secured pro bono legal support, established a board, and found warehouse space to launch his non-profit
- Jennifer Wragg struggled for two years to articulate her business idea. After just five days at Ignition, she had a complete business idea for her consultancy helping companies navigate parental leave
- Charlene Clarke had attempted three product launches without success. Ignition gave her the frameworks and confidence to approach her HR tech platform with a clear strategy.
Who should attend?
- Entrepreneurs with ideas they’re ready to develop
- Business owners planning innovative expansions
- Researchers and academics exploring commercialisation
- Anyone with a concept they want to validate and refine.
