About the event

Join Ecoburbia for an engaging, hands‑on workshop about using nature to improve the comfort and efficiency of your home. Learn the basics of solar passive design and discover how strategic planting can shade, cool and protect your home from summer heat while allowing winter warmth to enter.

We will explore a range of low‑cost and no‑cost actions, with a focus on choosing the right trees, shrubs and climbers, where to plant them and how they can help reduce energy use.

You will leave with practical, inspiring ideas to reduce your environmental footprint, create a cooler garden and lower your energy bills through the power of plants.

About the WA Tree Festival
Trees are essential to our communities. They provide shelter, food and habitats for countless species, help cool our environment and improve our wellbeing. The WA Tree Festival brings together local governments and community groups across Western Australia to celebrate the vital role trees play in supporting nature and enhancing our neighbourhoods.

In the lead‑up to and throughout the festival, we are hosting events and initiatives focused on greening Cockburn and protecting local wildlife.

The WA Tree Festival runs from 11 April to 10 May across Western Australia.
