From September to January turtles leave the water to nest. They are vulnerable during this time, so need our help the most. Running a nine lakes around the City of Cockburn, the Saving Our Snake-necked Turtle (SOSNT) program recruits and trains volunteers to support nesting turtles and protect nests. Several training sessiosn are available and volunteers only need to attend and complete one session. Participants will be trained to support nesting turtles, protect their nests and use the TurtleSAT App. These sessions are for community members interested in tracking at one the following lakes:
