Yangebup Bicycle Pump Track

Construction of the bicycle pump track at Perena Rocchi Reserve, on the corner of Osprey Drive and Moorhen Drive started in May 2018 and was completed in July 2018.

The Yangebup Progress Association received a State Government Local Projects Local Jobs grant for the bicycle pump track from the State Government and the funds were transferred to the City of Cockburn to manage.

Trees have been retained at the Yangebup site on the corner of Osprey and Moorhen Drives where the looping 150m track had the support of Yangebup Progress Association as it enhances the area by encouraging use of the park, along with the nearby basketball ring and playground.

Pump tracks are commonly made of clay. They have a circuit of banked turns and features designed to be ridden by riders "pumping" - creating momentum by up and down body movements. A similar track established at Dixon Park in Hamilton Hill has proven popular with the community since it opened last July.

The Pump Track layout for Yangebup is available to view in the related documents section below.

South Lake Bicycle Pump Track

Construction of the new pump track at Broadwater Reserve started in May 2018 and finished in July 2018.

The South Lake Ottey Neighbourhood and Family Centre received a State Government Local Project Local Jobs grant for the pump track and basketball half court from the State Government and the funds were transferred to the City of Cockburn to manage.

Trees were retained at the South Lake track which are near the Ottey Neighbourhood and Family Centre.

The project was supported from headspace Fremantle and 360 Health + Community, and from the local residents association with members of Connecting South Lake “agreeing unanimously” to its construction.

The Pump Track layout for South Lake is available to view in the related documents section below.
