ShopLocal campaign - get involved!

It’s been a tough year for many businesses in Cockburn, so the City is encouraging our residents to #ShopLocalCockburn and help our business community recover!
 
From 1 October to 15 November we are encouraging residents to shop local and WIN in our first ever #ShopLocalCockburn campaign.

How does the competition work?

For shoppers to win amazing prizes including two prize packs worth $1,000, as well as a weekly prize, they must:

  • Spend a minimum of $10 at three separate Cockburn based shops, services or hospitality venues*
  • Spend between 1 October – 15 November
  • Email all contact details and receipts to shoplocal@cockburn.wa.gov.au before 4pm on 15 November 2020.

What are the prizes that shoppers can WIN?

Two prize packs worth over $1,000

Prize Pack 1 (valued at $1,000) Prize Pack 2 (valued at $1,000)

Weekly $100 vouchers

There are also SIX weekly $100 vouchers for one of the stores visited by the shopper.

How can businesses get involved?

Encourage your customers to email their details and all three (minimum) receipts to shoplocal@cockburn.wa.gov.au before 4pm on 15 November to go into the draw! It’s that simple!
 
We also have Media Kits available for businesses to promote the campaign and get shoppers shopping inside their stores!! To receive a pack, email us at business@cockburn.wa.gov.au, alternatively, you can download the Media Kit below.

What do the media packs contain?

The media packs for businesses to use to encourage local spending include:
  • Downloadable A4 and A3 posters for you to print out and put up in your store (in your email mention that you want these and we will mail some out)
  • Social media posts to use on your Facebook and Instagram pages
  • Social media headers for you to use on your Facebook and Twitter pages
  • Graphic/ picture and copy to use in your eNewsletter
  • DL flyers for your counter ( in your email mention that you want these and we will mail some out)

Terms and Conditions

a. Eligibility
Entry is free and open to residents of the City of Cockburn. Entrants must be 13 years old or older.
Staff or Elected Members and their spouse/partner, parents, children and grandchildren are ineligible to enter.

b. Entry
To enter, you must spend $10 or more in one transaction at THREE different Cockburn based business.  
This excludes Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, large national retail, fast food, liquor store chains and petrol stations. 

The purchase/s must have been made during the competition period - The competition starts on 01.10.2020 and concludes at 4pm on 15.11.2020.

A photo of the three tax invoices/receipts must be included in a single email to shoplocal@cockburn.wa.gov.au together with the entrants name, telephone number and address. 

Cockburn based businesses must have an address in Atwell, Aubin Grove, Banjup, Beeliar, Bibra Lake, Cockburn Central, Coogee, Coolbellup, Hamilton Hill, Hammond Park, Henderson, Jandakot, Leeming (part), Munster, North Coogee, North Lake, South Lake, Spearwood, Success, Wattleup and Yangebup.

The promotion starts on 01.10.2020 and concludes at 4pm on 15.11.2020
Council reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who has, in the opinion of Council, engaged in conduct in entering the draw which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of Council and spirit of the campaign. Council reserves the right to disqualify a winner without warning or notice if Council becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause. Council accepts no responsibility for any late or misdirected registrations due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.

e. Prize Draw
The winners will be randomly selected on Tuesday 17 November 2020 and announced on this page and the City's facebook page opens in a new window.

f. Notification of winners
Winners will also be notified by email within two (2) business days of the draw. If the prize is unclaimed or un-awarded after 10 business days, a second and final prize draw will be conducted. If a winner is drawn they will be contacted by email within two (2) business days and will have their name published on this page no later than Monday of the following week. The judges’ decision is final.

g. Legal conditions
In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders Council’s ability to proceed with this promotion and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, computer virus, technical failure, acts of God, the Council may in its absolute discretion cancel the promotion and/or recommence it from the start on the same conditions.

Council is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this campaign, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this campaign including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

Council shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the campaign or any prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

h. Privacy
All information is handled in accordance with Council’s Privacy Policy, and the City will not be using the information the entrant provides for anything other than the competition.
