Cockburn Libraries is cooking, baking, and having safe fun with food during the September/October school holidays. Activities at all three libraries. Activities are strictly ages 7 and up unless otherwise specified.

Coolbellup Library

Cupcake Detectives

Wednesday 27 September at 10.30am
Mix up your own cupcakes and then put your detective hats on to work out what effect missing ingredients can have on baking.

Food Scene

Tuesday 3 October at 10.30am
Be a food scientist and learn about the food you eat, before you make something fizzy. Ages 5 to 11

Bread and Butter

Wednesday 4 October at 10.30am
Using simple recipes make your own bread and butter.

Marshmallow Towers

Tuesday 26 September at 10.30am
Build a structure with toothpicks and marshmallows. Can you be the prize-winning food engineer?

Sultana Submarines

Friday 29 September at 10.30am
Use the science of gases in liquids to make your own sultana submarines, then decorate your science jar to take home.

Sushi Superheroes

Learn to make and roll your own sushi. Ages 10 to14

Juicy Science

Find out how juice is made and experiment with juice to see how powerful your fruit can be.

Planting Workshop

Wednesday 4 October at 10am
Plant your own herbs and vegetables.

Scitech – Mix and Make

Thursday 5 October at 10am
From the kitchen to the bathroom, students explore what happens when we combine different things, both following a recipe and making up some of their own. Ages 4 to 8

Anime Arvo

Thursday 28 September at 2-4pm
Anime Arvo is an opportunity to watch a selection of first episodes from four different Anime TV series. Specific titles and ratings are available on the libraries website. Strictly ages 12 and up.
