HEAL Program Information Session - Term 4 (Tuesday Program)

The Healthy Eating Activity & Lifestyle (HEAL) program helps people to develop lifelong healthy lifestyle habits.

The program is run over an eight week period, with two contact hours per week:

  • One hour of gentle exercise

  • One hour of lifestyle education

You will receive health consultations:

  • at the start of the program

  • after eight weeks of classes

If you are overweight or obese or at risk of developing lifestyle diseases such as type two diabetes or cardiovascular disease then HEAL is the program for you.

The exercise sessions are made up of low-moderate intensity physical activity that anyone can do. The groups are friendly, supportive people. The education sessions will cover the following topics:

  • Your Health and Your Choices

  • Physical Activity

  • What is Healthy Eating?

  • Fat In Your Diet & Eating Out

  • Recipe Modification, Meal Planning & Budgeting

  • Label Reading

  • Making and Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle

  • Myths and Misconceptions & Non-Hungry Eating
