Since graduating from Curtin University in 2011, I have been teaching Visual Art in a secondary school. My education in ceramics has seen me favour the slip casting technique. I thoroughly enjoy the tactile nature of ceramics: mould-making, tinting the clay, casting, sponging, hand painting and glazing. A planisphere is an ancient tool that astronomers can use to determine the position of stars for any given date and time. The two adjustable disks rotate on a common pivot to display the visible stars. Using this chart, I have mapped the constellations in the Perth sky at 11pm on the 26th January through to December.
