This registration will take approximately 4 minutes to complete.

The City of Cockburn are responding to the pandemic by temporarily allowing café, restaurants and lunch bars to operate COVID safe outdoor dining areas. Should you wish to participate, please complete the following on-line registration and agree to the terms and conditions below.

If the City receives complaints about the operation of an outdoor dining area, an officer may direct a business owner to modify their operation to ensure it is conducted safely.

Terms and Conditions

  • The business must follow all Public Health COVID Directions at the time of operation.
  • The number of patrons cannot be greater than the current maximum permitted on the premises.
  • Dining is permitted on footpaths or private carparks only (as long as the dining area is fenced) or unless otherwise approved.
  • Dining is not permitted on roads or embayed parking.
  • The business should have $20 million public liability insurance.  All responsibility and liability for the area shall be the business operator.
  • Tables should typically be placed adjacent to the shop front
  • 1.5m of pedestrian access should be provided from the kerbside
  • Furniture should be safe, sound and secured for all weather conditions
  • Furniture should be removed and stored safely at the end of each of each trading day.  No permanent fixtures permitted.
  • If you intend to operate in the evening you should consider lighting
  • This is a temporary arrangement and will expire on 1 September 2022
