On August 10, 2023, the Minister for Planning made a decision that the area will become an urban area in the future.
The upcoming weeks and months will be some of the most challenging times of the pandemic that we have seen in WA. The City will try its best to support these businesses wherever possible, starting with a relaxation of the alfresco dining rules. Some customers will feel safer dining outdoors. If you are a business and wishing to participate in COVID-safe outdoor dining please follow the link to register. Complete the Safe Outdoor Dining application
Some clients may not feel safe training in large public gyms. The City is providing the following options to support fitness businesses:
A personal trainer can register to obtain consent to operate from Council parks free of charge.
Complete the Personal Trainer Request to use City Parks & Reserves application
A personal trainer who lives in the City of Cockburn can conduct personal training as a home business in accordance with the current COVID exemptions. Please notify the City within 7 days of commencing the use by emailing [email protected]
Gym owners who have an adjacent outdoor space suitable for training purposes can submit a request. This request should be sent to [email protected]
The request should include the following details:
Confirm only small moveable equipment will be used
Confirm no equipment will be left in outdoor area
Confirm all activities to be confined within the lot
Where the lot is part of a strata, provide written consent from strata manager
Identify adequate parking.
