Ordinary Council Meeting

Ordinary Council Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month in the Council Chambers, 9 Coleville Crescent, Spearwood (unless otherwise determined by Council), commencing at 7pm. Please visit Meeting Dates for a full list of this year's Council meeting dates.

The order of business for Council is set out in the agenda and includes:

  • Adoption of items where no change or discussion of a recommendation is proposed
  • Adoption of items that require an absolute or special majority
  • Adoption of items that involve an amendment, rejection or deferral pending further information or general discussion where no financial or conflict of interest has been declared
  • Adoption of items in where a financial or conflict of interest has been declared. 

Not all agenda items are discussed and some matters are pre-arranged to be voted for en-bloc (all together).  Items not discussed are adopted as per the recommendation contained in the agenda report. Council proceedings and decisions are tabulated in meeting minutes, which are available to View and Download online.

Public Questions, Deputations and Petitions

Members of the public are invited to submit Public Questions and Petitions and to make Deputations to Council for discussion at meetings.
