Activities, Events and Programs - Seniors

The City hosts a number of activities, events, classes, courses, outings and services for seniors aged 50 and over. These include age friendly initiatives through the Cockburn Seniors Centre.  Cockburn Community Care provides Home and Community Care for frail aged people and people with disability.

Support Services for Seniors

Cockburn Community Care provides a range of services for seniors who live in Cockburn. Services are provided at home and in the community and in the Social Clubs located in at the Jean Willis Centre on the corner of Ingram Street and Healy Road in Hamilton Hill. The main office is staffed for community contact between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Social Clubs

The Jean Willis Centre in Hamilton Hill, run by Cockburn Community Care, operates a number of social clubs. This service helps people get out, maintain friendships, stay healthy and keep up their social and communication skills.  The clubs are different every day, catering for groups with different needs and interests. Activities and outings are organised for seniors, people with cognitive disabilities and people with dementia. Cockburn Community Care can provide transport if required.

Cockburn Seniors Centre

The Cockburn Seniors Centre provides recreational, educational, health and social activities, classes, events, meals, outings and courses for people aged 50 and over. Funding and Fees for Cockburn Community Care Programs

Our services can be funded by:

  • NDIS My Way
  • Home and Community Care (HACC)
  • Home Care Packages.

Cockburn Community Care services may also be self-funded.
Fees are set by the government and vary across the Cockburn Community Care programs. WA NDIS services do not generally require a client contribution. Clients who are unable to pay fees cannot be denied services by agencies.
