About CockburnThe City of Cockburn is a place where you can have it all. It’s either here already, right on our doorstep, or we’re working hard to make it happen.
Cockburn is made up of vibrant communities - old and new. We’re a place of diverse people, lifestyles and experiences—with everything from pristine beaches and wetlands to theme parks and world-class recreation facilities.
The City of Cockburn, located in the south-west coastal corridor of metropolitan Perth, has long been a vibrant commercial and industrial hub for Western Australia.
We provide around thirty per cent of the employment for the south-west area of Perth and generate almost six billion dollars in domestic and international exports.
Local government has traditionally been a regulator, facility operator and service provider.
However, the City of Cockburn is taking steps to proactively help our local economy to grow and thrive.
We see our role as supporting and partnering with business and industry to solve the problems they face such as worker shortages, capacity and capability building, skills development and skills pathways.
