The City of Cockburn is seeking a dynamic and strategic Local Government executive

Cockburn is a growing and vibrant community of over 120,000 residents in the southern suburbs of Perth, on Whadjuk Nyungar country. Encompassing everything from wetlands to waves to theme parks and world-class recreation facilities, it is an epicentre of innovation and enterprise for industry and a major contributor of economic activity and employment in the State.
 
This is an opportunity to lead and contribute to the progress of the City and help realise the Council’s vision to make Cockburn the best place to be. If you have the desire and impetus to streamline and steer the City of Cockburn through the next stage of its community, economic and sustainable journey, this could be the role for you.
 
The City is looking for a strategic leader with a proven track record in a senior executive position in a Local Government environment to:
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team in the strategic delivery of the Strategic Community and Corporate Business Plans;
  • Ensure exemplary management of the City’s physical, financial, digital and human resources;
  • Provide professional, high-level program and policy advice and support to the Council; and
  • Create and maintain effective relationships with Elected Members and diverse stakeholders.
An attractive remuneration package, in accordance with the Band 1 role of $256,634 to $390,810 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate, in a five-year contract.
