Discovery Parks lease at Coogee Beach Caravan Park

The City of Cockburn's response to Cockburn Gazette re: Discovery Parks lease at Coogee Beach caravan park, 8.1.21 -

Question: I know the lease expires in June 2022, but is there any truth the City are currently renegotiating the lease with Discovery a view to renew early?
Answer:
The City is negotiating with Discovery to grant a new lease to extend Discovery’s lease tenure.

Question: Are you able to confirm whether Discovery are the preferred lease of the park, or whether alternate options are being considered?
Answer:
Following a request for proposals tender, Discovery is the City’s preferred future lessee.

Question: And can you confirm the desired lease at the moment, if it is being re-negotiated, is 19 years + 19 years, or 21 years + 21 years?
Answer:
The proposed lease is for 21 years plus a 21 year option to renew.
