Country theme for evergreen Cockburn Rotary Spring Fair on Sunday

27OCTOBER2023
Get ready for a whip cracking, lip smacking, foot tapping day of fun, food and entertainment at the Cockburn Rotary Spring Fair on Sunday 29 October from 11am to 8pm at Manning Park.

As a part of the Cockburn LIVE event series, the fair – which has been held annually for more than a quarter of a century – will celebrate with a country theme, and as always, is free to attend.

Entertainment will include:
  • Sideshow Alley
  • Market stalls
  • Food trucks
  • Drone show (weather permitting)
  • Whip cracking and lassoing.

The fair will culminate in its first drone show, an adaptation of a dreaming story of the Seagull and the Sea. It has been designed with the help of well-known Aboriginal artist Ron Bradfield Jnr. and includes an audio of the story, presented by local drone company Stellar Lights.

For double the fun, the FROSH Youth Festival, located close to the stage, is a fun-packed interactive activity zone aimed at kids and young adults. Entertainment includes interactive circus workshops, a bucking bull, henna art and much more.

City of Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett said he was looking forward to seeing the crowds and attending the annual Cockburn Rotary Spring Fair, which raises money for Rotary Club of Cockburn community projects.

“The City holds many eternally popular events each year, and the Rotary Spring Fair and FROSH Youth Festival are always well-attended,” Mayor Howlett said.

“These free Cockburn LIVE events are an engaging and memorable way to bring residents, friends and people wanting to visit the City together. These shared experiences we have as a community help build understanding, respect and collaboration in Cockburn.”

The carbon neutral event will feature Go2Cup bins and stations which will supply reusable cutlery, plates and cups for use with food vendor offerings. Parking is by gold coin entry. Find out more about the fair on the City's website.
