About the event

Ever wondered how food waste can be used to generate electric? Join us on the Richgro Bioenergy Plant Tour to find out how!

You will learn about the science of an anaerobic digester and how it generates electricity via methane capture from food waste.

This 'mechanical stomach' turns food waste into enough energy to power 30,000 homes! Food waste from some of Cockburn's businesses is being sent here rather than landfill, preventing greenhouse gas emissions and creating green energy.

Meet at the Administration Centre carpark and our bus will take you to Richgro's site in Jandakot.

Registration essential.
