About the event

Introductory Obedience Course (Open to City of Cockburn residents only)

Six weeks of basic obedience training for dogs aged 20 weeks +.

Time: 8 - 8.50am
When: Every Sunday from 31 October to 5 December 2021
Cost: $70 for low Income earner 
Cost: $90 for General resident 

Training provided by the qualified and experienced dog trainer, Dave Metcalf from Agile Dogs.  Training method best described as Balanced Trainer or LIMA .

Help improve your dog’s confidence and develop a stronger bond with your dog.  
Learn the skills to be able to teach your dog to sit, stand, drop, recall and return to heel, as well as focus and become more agile:

  • Week 1 – Introduction

  • Week 2 - Socialisation and Behaviour

  • Week 3-6 – Activities and skills.

Max 10 dogs per class.

10 Spots available - only one booking accepted per residence 
Location:  Nicholson Reserve, Yangebup

Class Rules and Conditions - Please read prior to attending training. 

Vaccination and registration - all dogs must be vaccinated and proof supplied on Week 1 attendance. All dogs must be microchipped and registered with the City of Cockburn to be eligible to attend. Failing to comply may result in the cancellation of your booking. If the dog is already chipped & registered the registration number can be entered at time of booking which can then be validated on our records.

Accessing Low Income discounted rate - please provide evidence of eligibility to the City at least one week prior to commencement of the course.  Please provide a copy of the relevant card along with photo ID (Health Care Card Holders/Low Income Card Holders/Pensioner Concession Card). Failing to provide evidence may result in the cancellation of your booking (provide via email preferred).
 
Resident Status - Evidence of residency in the City will be required at Week one class by way of photo identification and mail correspondence (power/gas/water bill). If your property address is in your name or your dog has already been registered to a City of Cockburn address this evidence will not be needed. 
 
Non resident bookings will be cancelled.
