About the event
Have your children outgrown their clothes? Or is their wardrobe too full of clothes they simply don’t wear? Children grow out of clothes quicker than they wear them out
.
Join us at City's Administration Centre for our KIDS’ Clothes Swap. We will provide a brief presentation on how to reduce textile waste going to landfill, how to dress your kids more sustainably, and shop mindfully.
This is a great way to declutter all those good quality clothes that no longer fit your children and get some ‘new’ clothes for them for FREE.
In under 2 hours, you children could have a whole 'new' wardrobe. All you need to do is bring along QUALITY children clothes (clean/no stains/holes/damages/broken zips) and shoes, your children (age 1 to 14) don’t wear anymore (any style or season) and exchange them for items they will.
Bring up to 5 items and take as many as you like, and best of all, it’s FREE.
Any leftover clothes are donated.
Check-list prior to the event:
- Are your items cleaned and free from permanent stains, holes, tears and/or anything that would make it unfit for resell?
- Underwear, sleepwear and tired gym clothes will not be accepted.
This event is part of our “Textile Waste Reduction Program” proudly supported by the Government of Western Australia and funded by the Waste Authority–Waste Sorted Program and City of Cockburn.
Sustainability is a key strategic value for the City of Cockburn. Our vision is to manage our waste services sustainability and lead and support a community that avoids waste generation, reduces environmental impacts and recognises that waste is a valuable resource to be recovered, reused and recycled.
