Australia Day Coogee Beach Festival

Join us and our special guest host Christina Morrissy for our free Australia Day event at Coogee Beach Reserve and what a great way to celebrate being Australian!

Here's a run down of the days events:

9.30am Live entertainment by the Binjareb Middars Aboriginal Dance Group
10am Rock n Toddle Australiana Show (kids)
10.30am Watermelon eating comp at the front of stage
10.45am Roving entertainment
11.05am Live entertainment by The Bad Influence
11.50am Beth Shalom Youth Tongan Cultural Dance Group

 

Time Activity
8am-11am

Sandcastle building comp (Prize family ticket to Rottnest) plus sandcastle building workshops down on the beach- to be judged by the Australia Day Ambassador

8am-midday Free water amusement rides/slides and real life mermaids on the beach from 10am
8am-midday South Coogee Volunteer Fire Bush Brigade demonstrations
8am-midday Multicultural food as well as a free sausage sizzle (while stocks last)
8am-midday Basket weaving, facepainting, sandcards, petting zoo and earth art
8am-midday Free bikes checks with BikeWise (plus free secure VIP Bike Valet service)


Road closures and parking

Parking for this event is opposite the beach off Cockburn Road and at Coogee Hall off Howick Court.

Access to Coogee Beach Cafe and regular beach goers parking is via Peri End through Orsino Boulevard. Powell Road will be closed from 6am-1pm and additional parking will be available across the road from the reserve. Relieve the stress of finding a carpark and navigating traffic by riding your bike to the Australia Day Coogee Beach Festival using the great cycle path network surrounding the event or carpool & use other travel options where possible.
