Some Helpful Hints
To make your swimming lessons an even greater experience!

  • If the swimming lesson is a new experience, try to come relaxed and positive. Your child will feel more calm and secure and lessons will be more enjoyable and successful.
  • Try to arrive early or visit the centre at a date prior to your lesson, so you and your child become acquainted to our pool environment.
  • Despite the temperature of the water, some children will still feel cold. If you find that happens for you, please keep the child out of the water before their lesson. If they are cold, they cannot concentrate and you will not be getting the best value for your money.
  • Supplement lessons with other play/practice times at the pool. Many children see lessons as an extension of school and this can often take some of the pleasure out of water activities.
  • We strongly recommend and encourage the use of goggles.
  • We strongly recommend and encourage hair to be tied or clipped back.
  • For health reasons, please bring tissues if your child has a runny nose.
  • Children do not forget how to swim, but be aware that any absence may mean that they can get 'rusty'. It may take a number of lessons to get them back to where they left off. This sometimes happens when they have been unwell or missed a few lessons. This is particularly so for younger children.
  • Creche facilities are available Monday - Friday 9am - 1pm.
