Marketing & Customer Services

Cockburn Council's Customer Services exists to ensure that all customers receive the highest standard of service and are kept well-informed of what's happening within the City. The City has a team of Customer Service Officers available to assist in the Customer Contact Centre and in the reception area of our Administration Building.

The other area of Customer Service promotes the services and facilities provided for ratepayers and people living in Cockburn through a variety of publications & promotions. The employment of a full-time communications manager, media officer, public affairs officer and events coordinator ensures that the public is informed of major decisions, planning matters, events and so forth via the local media outlets and promotional material such as media releases, brochures and adverts.

Major publications that are coordinated by the Marketing and Customer Services Unit include:

  • Cockburn Soundings: An 16-page full colour newsletter printed on recycled paper and sent to all households bi-monthly (commencing in February each year). This publication informs residents of current issues and developments within the City of Cockburn. This ensures that customers are kept informed when the local media are unable to cover Council news.

This publication now also available online, under the Menu item of News : Soundings Newsletter
  • Cockburn Update - Advertising  Council's fortnightly advertisement: Each week the City of Cockburn has a colour news section in the 'Cockburn Gazette' on page 4. This regular section is popular with the public and it outlines upcoming events and services.
  • E-Newsletter is produced and sent out fortnightly outlining the latest news and events going on around and in the Cockburn locale. Register here to receive the e-newsletter.
  • The City of Cockburn Annual Report: The Annual Report provides a Mayoral Report, Chief Executive Report and reports on each of Council's major divisions, as well as outlining the City's income and expenditure from the previous financial year.

Copies are available on the City's Public Documents page or Annual Report Page. It is also available for  free at Council's Customer Service Counter and available at the Annual General Meeting of Electors each year.
