Interactive Mapping System

The City of Cockburn Interactive Mapping System allows you to view a range of map modules, using various tools to customise what is displayed. Specific locations and services can be found using the different search functions. For instructions on how to use our mapping system please see below.

How to use the Interactive Mapping System

 

Map Tools

Selection Tools

Selection Tools allows you to select properties and display information in the information panel.

Zoom tools

Zoom tools allow you to zoom in and zoom out.

Panning Tool

The Pan tool allows you to pan around by clicking and dragging.

measure area tool

Measuring tools measure distances & areas. Simply point & click where you wish to measure  and double click to finish.

Mapping Module

The Module drop down list allows a map module to be selected and display.

Views

Views

The View panel displays centre coordinate of the map window.

These change with location and zoom levels.

The zoom level for the current map window is shown in metres.

Scale can be specified by the user and useful for mapping and printing.

Layers

The Visible Icon displays information for the current selected layer.

Layer information can be turned on and off as desired. Similarly the Label Icon displays default labels, which can be turned on and off as required by the user.

 

Searches

To find a property, enter the street or lot number and street name, and the Cockburn Interactive Mapping System will locate it. There are other searches available to find specific locations such as Libraries, Community Centres or Parks.

Map Modules

Property:

Displays basic property location such as Address and day of Rubbish Bin collection and Elected Ward Councillor Information.

Aerial Photography:

View the latest aerial photography of the City of Cockburn.

Aerial Historical:

View historical aerial photograph of Cockburn from 1950s till 2010

Community Services:

View and search the latest information on various community services provided by the Council.

Contours:

Displays ground level contours in 1 metre intervals.  Note: Contours were current in 1993.

Detail Area Plan:

Displays and search detail area plans as adopted by the Council.

Development Constraints:

Displays the different groups of development constraints such as environmental and odour/noise buffers.

Dog Exercise areas:

Locations of designated Dog Exercise Parks and Beaches within the City of Cockburn.

Heritage Places:

Location and details for Heritage places within the City of Cockburn.

MRS:

Metropolitan Regional Scheme containing Reserved Lands, Zones, and Roads. External Link to Western Power Network Capacity Mapping Tool, which provides a 20yrs outlook of the annual forecast remaining capacity available at Western Power zone substations.

Parks:

Metropolitan Regional Scheme containing Reserved Lands, Zones, and Roads.

Planning Projects:

Displays various planning project within the City.

Public Art Works:

View and search the latest public art works within the City.

Stormwater Drainage:

Approximate locations of Stormwater Drains, Manholes, Pipes and Sumps.

TP Scheme 3:

View the Town Planning Scheme 3 for a property.

Traffic Count:

View and search the location of traffic counters installed on citys road network.

Bike Plan 2010:

Displays designated bike paths within the City.

Wind mapping:

Displays general wind information such as wind speed and wind direction for each property.

Roads and Footpaths:

Displays and search roads and footpath (adjacent to roads and in parks)within the City of Cockburn

Topography:

Displays various topographical features such as waterways, pipelines, vegetation, road and rail centreline, utilities, contours, roof height, building outlines and fences

Detail Area Plan&Structure Plan:

Displays and search current Detailed Area Plans and Structure Plans as adopted by the council
