.....Then you should apply to join the YAC !

The Cockburn Youth Advisory Council (YAC) was established in 1993 to provide advice on youth issues to Cockburn City Council.  In 1997 YACs were established statewide to provide advice to the State Minister for Youth Affairs.

The YAC aims to represent the aspirations, views and needs of young people and to participate in issues and projects for the benefit of young people living in Cockburn.

The YAC meets once a month for meetings of the full council and at other times in between for meetings of various subcommittees working on a variety of projects.  Some of the projects underway for the year include a revamp of the Youth Magazine, working closely with Council on the Youth Facility design, further strengthening links between the YAC and schools, administering money for the U-Fund and organising the Youth Festival to be held on the last Sunday in October.

The Youth Advisory Council is made up of 15 young people aged 12 to 20 years who live, work or study in Cockburn.
