Walking Groups

Walking Groups have been pounding the City of Cockburn pavements and bush tracks for a number of years. In 2008, the City of Cockburn joined the Heart Foundation Walking (HFW) program. HFW is Australia's largest network of free community-based walking groups coordinated locally by the City of Cockburn. These free and social walking groups are based in various Cockburn suburbs and walk each week at various times.

With the supervision and guidance of a trained Walk Organisers, the walks provide an excellent opportunity for residents to improve their physical and mental health and well being

For contact details of a Walking Group in your area, or if you would like to become a HFW Walk Organiser and start a group in your suburb, please contact the City of Cockburn Health Promotion Officer, who is also the Area Coordinator for HFW on 9411 3503 or email beactive@cockburn.wa.gov.au.

Your latest Walking Groups will always be available in the Beactivecockburn Newsletters at http://www.beactivecockburn.com.au
