Cockburn Community Insurance Program

What is it?

The City of Cockburn can cover the cost of public liability insurance and volunteer accident cover to eligible not for profit organisations in Cocbkurn. 

Public liability insurance provides you with insurance cover for your legal liability to third parties for bodily injury and/or property damage arising from your group's activities.

The Volunteer Accident policy will provide volunteers and committee members with financial compensation should such persons sustain personal injury whilst working for and on behalf of a club or community group.

Eligibility

Membership is open to:

  1. Cockburn Resident Associations,
  2. Cockburn Seniors Groups,
  3. and other groups where:
    • The group is affiliated (member of or relationship with) a local Resident/Community Association.
    • The group has no more than $3,000 in annual income generated from (a) core business or (b) donations or sponsorship for operational costs.
    • The group does not have the option to affiliate to a peak body or State/National organisation with insurance provisions, or can not access insurance cover by other means.
    • The group's aims and objectives allow for longevity of the group beyond resolution of single issues.
    • The group is not a religious body.
    • The group is not a political interest group or party.
